Silvery/grey rock, lots of shiny little faces sparkle brightly when in the sunlight, has a rainbow hue to it. It's also really heavy for it's size,
(it's about the size of a baseball) and it feels about like picking up a chunk of iron.

Could be Bornite (peacock copper) ore. That can be black with a rainbow of colors and can be purple and blue and black also. Some mine dumps in the Tintic
Mnts. and elsewhere have specimens in them, but as collectors grab them up they are getting harder to find. So, my guess would be bornite rather than galena.

Thanks for the ideas. Probably should have mentioned this came from little cottonwood canyon, don't know if that helps or not.

I would also guess bornite or chalcocite.
