We have had some good items come in this last week. They include:

1. A huge collection of smoky quartz crystals from Utah. They range from about 1 inch to over 6". They are pretty impressive for Utah quartz.

I have been working on the Museum Cabinet and updating it a little. I have added some and removed some. We also have a Lasalite on display. It is the latest Utah Type species. It is from the Vanadium Queen Mine, LaSal Mountains in San Juan County. It is a rare sodium vanadium mineral that forms with other uranium minerals. This mine is also the type locality for Dickthomssonite (also on display).

What's New--
1. We just got in 200 pounds of the best-money-can-buy Alabaster from Utah. It is the old famous peach colored material.

I am sure it will all go really fast at $8 per pound. Most is in 1-3 pound pieces though there are some larger ones.

This Saturday I am going to Green River, Utah for Agates and more. I will be leaving hear at 7am. You MUST RSVP by Friday. If we don't get enough people to go I'll have to cancel.

Our Trilobite Trip was a huge success. Everyone had a blast and collected some really cool, old bugs. The biggest one collected that I saw was almost 2.5 inches long! There were several rare trilobites found that were worth hundreds of dollars each.

We will be redoing that trip on June 16th. Same rules, same place, same $50 per person. TRILOBITES GALORE!!!

I have worked long and hard to arrange field trips for this summer and now it looks like we are going collecting.

This is not going to be an ordinary dig. We are going to be collecting in a private quarry.
I have arranged for us to collect in a new and VERY productive quarry. It is similar to U-DIG fossils but it is much better. This quarry gets larger trilobites and they are much more abundant.
